What
is #VIO on ETG?
Simple. It is a channel on what is IRC. IRC stands for
Internet Relay Chat. That's where you can have real-time
conversations with our staff and pretty much anyone in the world on the
internet.
Where do I get
IRC?
There is a program called MIRC. This is the basic program used to
connect to an IRC server. You can download this program for
"FREE" at Http://www.mirc.com.
I've downloaded it now what?
Well, configuring it is done in 2 easy steps. When you unzip it,
it should create an icon on your desktop. If it didn't then look for
it under c:/mirc (assuming that you installed it on your c: drive).
Then click on mirc.exe. You will then be prompted to a
"Connect" screen.
Click on the "Add" button and
enter the following:
Description: IRC EnterTheGame
IRC Server: irc.enterthegame.com
Leave the rest as is. Now click on Add. Make sure that
"IRC EnterTheGame" server is
showing in the tab and press "Connect to IRC
Server"
That's it for the first step. The second step is even easier.
On the third little icon on the top starting from the left hand side,
you will see one that looks like a file with the #+
symbol on it. Click here and type #VIO
then press "ADD".
Make sure that #VIO is highlighted and then press "JOIN".
That's it!!! You are in. If you have problems connecting after
that go to http://www.mirc.com
and check out their help section. I've explained it about as best as
I can.
